Anyango Reggy
Ethiopia, Kenya and Rwanda
Anyango is a third year PhD student pursuing a doctoral
degree in African Studies at Howard University. She embarked
on a 6 month journey to Rwanda to carry out field research on
Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Women. She also traveled to
Ethiopia and Kenya.
Areas of interest include: international affairs, development
and social change, conflict transformation and women, and
literature, film, and society in Africa.

James Corey
Accra, Ghana
James is a first year MA student in the Department of African
Studies at Howard University. He is spending ten weeks in
Ghana to travel with his choir and intern at the West Africa AIDS
Foundation.
Areas of interest include: economic development and policy,
small business development in Ghana, HIV/AIDS research
and music.

Anita Wheeler
Kunming, China
Anita is spending 12 weeks in Kunming, China to undertake
Mandarin study. Anita recently completed her Master’s Thesis
in Sino-African relations.
Areas of interest include: international relations, African
foreign policies, Sino-African relations, human security and
human rights research, the oil industries of Angola and
Sudan.
